Fresh Out The Slammer

This one actually didn't come from a previous writing. I wrote this one to this song. I've never really sat and thought about the "process" of how I do that, so I don't know how to explain it. If you're interested in that, leave a comment and let me know.

This poem is set to "Fresh Out The Slammer" by Taylor Swift, from the Tortured Poets Department.

Unbecoming

We were just babies,

When all of that happened to you.

 Let's swing the hammer,

And smash everything you thought you knew.

 Let's swing the hammer and,

Smash to pieces, all the reasons

You loved me and pushed beyond my reaches.

Never Letting me,

Catch your treason, consider

Fear the season of needing a reason,

For someone to love me,

Setting with the summer sun,

No more fun that we pretended to have.

Tears of a savior, props, and pleadings,

It delayed her eventual healing.

But I'm gonna reignite who I was before the crime.

Now just maybe I'm unbecoming who you're used to.

Let's swing the hammer and smash everything you thought you knew.

Let's swing the hammer,

I'll wear the sashes, no impasses, my new stature, I'll take my chances fully fledged.

Now I have, created vectors, destroyed the fetters,

Now my sanity won't have to be the expense.

I tried to leave but I couldn't bear it,

True happiness, boy I feared it.

Renting my heart out all the while.

All that blame I kept imposing,

Making that little girl keep on owning,

What they all did combined, it wasn't my crime.

Now just maybe I'm unbecoming,

It still remains to be seen if I can stop the fiend,

From ruining the rest,

Of this girl's self-esteem.

And forgiveness becomes,

The only thought I ever keep,

The only truth I ever need,

To believe that to be free, means….

To stop playing hide and seek and spread my wings,

Stitching up all of my seams.

But I'm gonna reignite, who I was before the crime.

Hope you loved it and if not, fuck you.

ok byeeeeeee.
